Twenty six picture-plates in color, mounted on the book leaves, on the right side (printed from left to right). The illustrations are surrounded by text. On the left side appears the French translation. Good quality printing on heavy paper with wide margins. The illustrations were printed in Paris by "Paris de Artistique Editions". Imitation leather binding made by "Bezalel", with "Queen of Sheba" plaque. [31] leaves, 34 cm. Good condition. Slight damages to binding and to front end paper.

“Ketuvim” – Journal of Agudat HaSofrim – All Issues

Steinman, Eliezer [ed]. Ketuvim, weekly journal on questions of culture, literature and art, published by Agudat HaSofrim V'Hasifrut Ha'Ivrit B'Eretz Yisrael. Tel Aviv, 1926-1933.
First to seventh year, Issues 1-299. (Issue 14 of the first year is missing). Ketuvim was founded by Chen Bialik and edited by Eliezer Steinman; Later, Avraham Shilansky joined the editing staff. Ketuvim served as the mouthpiece of the Hebrew Authors' Union where they published their works: Asher Brosh, Ya'akov Pichman, Avigdor HaMeiri, Avraham Shalonsky, Esther Raab, Nathan Alterman, Avraham Chalfi and others. After a year, Ketuvim became sharply opposed to the leaders of the Authors' union and the union removed its patronage from the journal and founded Moznayim. After the two editors Steinman and Shalonsky parted ways, the publishing of the journal ceased and Shalonsky began editing Turim. Five volumes 49 cm. Good condition. Damage to several issues.

Explosion of King David Hotel – Photographs

Four photographs of King David Hotel in Jerusalem after its south wing was exploded by the Etzel underground. Jerusalem, July 22, 1946.
British soldiers are seen surrounding the rubble, as well as an overall view of the hotel with the ruined wing. Ink-stamped on the reverse "The Matson Photo Service, Jerusalem, Palestine". 91 people were killed in the explosion. Included is an additional photograph of the hotel, prior to the explosion. Four photographs 12x9 cm, good condition, stains (mainly on the reverse); photograph 9x6.5 cm, good condition, annotated in pencil on the reverse.

Ben-Dov", and further on "I photographed this new photograph and added a beard in pencil in order to see the resemblance and differenceג€¦ and I realize that this is the same person in all the photographs, mainly the eyes and eyelids prove it. The periodical "Jung Juda" was founded in 1900 by Filipp Lebenhart and was published until the 1930s. This periodical was the first Zionist-German periodical for youngsters. The editor, Springer, served as a chairman of the National Jewish Teachers Union in Bohemia. The issues include poems, biographies, short essays, letters, quotations from the Talmud, crosswords, photographs and illustrations. The issues are compiled in a volume with a special title page and an index. IV, 400 pp, 21 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains. Detached binding. Many detached leaves.

Joseph Tunkel (1881-1949), official postcard, with a long letter in his handwriting, 1911. Yiddish.
The Jewish humorist and satirist Joseph Tunkel was known by his literary name "Der Tunkeler". He writes his biography on this postcard; from the day he was born in Babruysk in 1881, the move to Vilnius when he was 15, through publications in the paper "Der Yid" in 1901, and so on, until 1911. Postcard 14x9.5 cm. Good condition. Postal stamp missing.
