The Great Assembly – The Second Zionist Congress
The Great Assembly or the Zionist Congress in Basel, Edited by Nachum Slouschz (one of the Congress members). Published by “Tushiya”, Warsaw, 1898.
“Details of proceedings of the Second Congress in Basel, meetings, negotiations, speeches and decisions.” A kind of diary of Slouschz’s, detailing the substance of the Congress, the various lectures, and more.
112 pages, 17 cm. The body of the book is in good condition with ink stamps. The cover is in fair condition, roughly repaired along the spine and inside cover.

Stencil document for the establishment of the Hebrew Union – signed by Ruppin, Hissin, and others
Handwritten document copied by stencil calling for the establishment of a general union for the Jews of Eretz Israel. The document is signed by “Members of the Palestine Council office,” Dr. Chaim Hissin, Dr. Arthur Ruppin, Dr. Ya’akov Ta[h]on, and two others.
The document calls for all Jews in the country to send representatives to the general meeting and to choose “an ongoing Eretz Israel council.” It apparently relates to a 1913 initiative by Ruppin and Tahon to establish a general Hebrew Union to stand against the Arabs in Eretz Israel and the Ottoman government.
Single leaf, 29 cm. Fair condition. Fold marks, some of which were torn and been repaired professionally with adhesive tape. Foxing. Filing holes.

Foundation of “Temporary Committee” – Jerusalem, 1908
Single page, stenciled or carbon-copied. Jerusalem, 1908.
Copy of letter addressed to "Our honorable brothers…in Jaffa and the Moshavot" with announcement to the Turkish Regime about the founding of a temporary committee of 14 members in Jerusalem. Amongst the members are David Yellin, Meyuchas, Mani and others. The committee will perform a census in each and every neighborhood, and take care of the rights of Ottoman Jews.
32.5 x 22 cm, fair condition. Many creases, folding signs, tears to edges. Some stains.

Confirms that the abovementioned is listed as an active pioneer who worked for a period of two years under the supervision of the Center and has learned the trade of construction, knows Hebrew; in preparation for his trip to Eretz Israel. With a photograph of the pioneer.

Archive of Rabbi Moshe HaMeiri Ostrovsky – HaMizrachi”
Rabbi Moshe HaMeiri Ostrovsky, born in Karlin, made aliya to Eretz Israel in 1897 and learned in the Torat Chaim Yeshiva in the Old City of Jerusalem. Served in the Rabbinate of Moshav Ekron (Mazkeret Batya). One of the planners of the religious education in Eretz Israel, and one of the founders of the Mizrachi Movement. Served as a Mizrachi representative in the 12th, 15th and 20th Zionist Congresses, and was a member of the National Council. He was also among the founders of the Chief Rabbinate, and was a founder and later the Rabbi of the Kiryat Moshe Neighborhood in Jerusalem. Died in Jerusalem in 1957.
The archive contains 20 official files, tens of printed booklets, and thousands of documents: correspondence relating to the Mizrachi Movement, The Zionist Management and Management of the Jewish Agency, Memos to the UN, and more. Mostly from the 30s and 40s. Most of the documents are printed, some are handwritten.

Mizrachi Album – Photographs of Rabbis, New York
Photographic album of the great Rabbis of the time who advocated settling the Holy Land. Published by Mizrachi, New York, [1920?]. Elaborate album with photographs of ten Rabbis printed on thick cardboard, including their histories.
Among the rabbis: R. Zvi Hirsch Kalischer, R. Shmuel Mohilever, R. Azriel Hildesheimer, and R. Yitzhak Yaakov Reines.
[14] leaves, [10] portrait plates. 13x17 cm. The body of the book is in very good condition. The cover is damaged and loose, spine is missing. Margins are gilded.

Solon in Lydien – Herzl – Vienna-Leipzig, 1904
Solon in Lydien, Play with three acts, by Theodore Herzl. Wiener Verlag, Vienna-Leipzig, 1904. First edition.
The story Solon in Lydien was published by Herzl in 1900 as a short story. The plot takes place in the 6th century BC, and it is named for the legendary meeting between Solon of Athens and Krausus, King of Lydia. The story describes the influence of technological change on Viennese society. Herzl adapted the story to a play. It was preformed in Israel by HaOhel in 1949, when Herzl's bones were brought to be buried in Israel.

Approx. 50 documents regarding publishing of Herzl's writings by Mitzpe publishing, 1920s-1940s. "Selected Writings of Herzl" were published by Mitzpe Publishing during the 1930s.
The file includes a letter from Herzel's son, paper orders, matters concerning publishing license, Claim of Mrs. Neuman-Herzl (his daughter) against Mitzpe Publishing, contracts and copies of contracts, letters and correspondence.

Story in rhyme translated from Hebrew to English, with regard to the journeys of “Kapson Ben-Chayil” (Blue Box character) in Palestine.

Megillat Esther, published by the Education Department of the Chile Zionist Federation. Santiago, Chile, Purim, 1943. "Dedicated to the Keren Kayemet LeYisrael." The Megillah is printed on thick paper, rolled on two scrolls, together with a note inscribed "KKL" in Hebrew and an illustration. In its original cardboard box.
The megillah is 16 cm long, the box is 28 cm. Very good condition. The box is slightly worn.

1. Ein neuer zeuge grosser vergangenheit. Form in German about the Zionist Shekel. Printed in Jerusalem by Zionist Histadrut Publishing, 1937/8 [with illustration by Otte Wallish]. Single leaf printed on both sides, [6] columns with photocopies and illustrations. Very good condition.
2. "As in days of old, the shekel is a symbol of Israel's freedom". Hebrew advertisement similar to no. 1, published by Zionist Histadrut, 1939. Good-fair condition. Filing holes, light tears and stains.
Complete receipt and receipt stub for a half Shekel donation. Monzon Print, Jerusalem.
On the front is a picture of a Shekel, the 10 commandments and additional illustrations. On the reverse side it reads, “The Knesset Israel Association – half a Shekel (half ruble).
